A concept for a business hotel in the heart of the city

The project for a city business hotel is located on “Hristo Botev” Blvd. in the city of Sofia. The building offers a restaurant on two levels with a garden, 7 double rooms and 9 apartments, and two-level underground parking.

The hotel is a five-story building in a closed development with two buildings that are cultural monuments. At the same time, the skyline along the boulevard is a group monument protected by the Cultural Heritage Act. This status implies careful research and design of new development on the property. Each stage of the project is coordinated and approved by the Ministry of Culture.

Access to the building is provided from the east from Hristo Botev Blvd. Cent

rally located, identical to the adjacent building, is the pedestrian access entrance that serves the ground level and upper floors. On the right is the car entrance.

The restaurant is located on the ground level. A small garden in the inner courtyard will be used by the guests of the hotel.

The facade of the building does not follow the traditional architecture of hystoric city of Sofia, but interprets ideas and influences with modern architectural concepts.

The zigzag vertical elements follow glazed after dense facade surfaces. The structure affects in a different way at each moment when changing the viewing angle from the street without being intrusive. The fully glazed volume transitions into a dense texture, which serves as a dynamic background for the neighboring architectural monuments.
